I have a video on my other channel 2createawebsite that shows you how to install custom search on WordPress. It’s not that hard.
Yes, I do use the …
Yes, I do use the filter and I’ve also just started using the new feature where you can filter out ads by category.
As I said in the …
As I said in the video this is from 3 sites and 1 blog

hey lisa and …
hey lisa and everyone else got a ? for you when do you see change in your adsense
Hi lisa last week …
Hi lisa last week what happend my 2 friends had fight and they knows each others sites and they start clicking each others adsense ads to get each other banned from adsense for click fraud and google knows it can happen to anybody so what is google doing about it to protect peoples accounts.
Thanks Lisa! I love …
Thanks Lisa! I love your videos and I learn something new each time. I’m building traffic to my blog, one bite at a time! I’m beginning to move ads around, change the actual ads, etc. Thanks for all of your video help!
I know this …
I know this probally has nothing to do with this but if you post videos on blogspot without using youtube just putting on there using blogger can people track like your address from your youtube videos or your blogspot videos?
I haven’t tried …
I haven’t tried them yet but it’s worth a shot! Thanks ![]()
Well I hope it all …
Well I hope it all works out. Have you tried Chitika? I am doing pretty good with them and only have them on a few pages. I’ve been experimenting with ad placement and just doubled my CTR yesterday. I like that their ads have small images next to them.
I did but they …
I did but they pretty much just said I was an advertiser risk. I wish they would give more info.
It does suck but I’ll see if I can pursue other revanue streams. Its hard to do that with 11 hrs a day tied up with work though.
I think I’ll wait until I have alot more traffic and then try another appeal. Can’t hurt.
Oh right, yeah the …
Oh right, yeah the high CTR is definitely a sign. Man, that sucks. I’m so sorry to hear about that. Did you try to appeal?
Well what tipped me …
Well what tipped me off what that I seen my clickthrough rate at 98%. I was not paid for any of these clicks and G caught them before I even noticed. How I seen it was India was through G analytics. I seen that India had one visit, 2 pages viewed and hundreds of clicks. I though you might have other ways to track it.
I actually waited months before putting adsense on that site. My traffic was steadily growing so I put adsense on it. 4ish months later I was banned.
True, but how would …
True, but how would you do that? You have no way of knowing who is clicking your ads and how many times. Sometimes there is a delay in the reporting so you have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes. Google could detect it even before the clicks show on your account.
I think that’s another good reason to wait a few months before you join AdSense. When your site is established, has some traffic, etc. Google may be less likely to axe you if they see suspicious activity.
Hm. That would …
Hm. That would actually make a decent blog post. How to detect and prevent click fraud on your site. It doesn’t help me now but may help others.
It depends on your …
It depends on your traffic and earnings. Mine were low. About 4k visitors per month. One person from India visited my website on and off for 2 weeks and clicked on ads for 6 to 8 minutes each time. When I found out I let adsense know and blocked India from seeing adsense ads. The India visitor stopped coming to my site after they couldnt see adsense. A few days later I was banned. A publisher like Lisa has alot less to worry about but if you have low traffic you have to be careful.
Lisa, I know this …
Lisa, I know this is kind of unrelated but hey. If you’re talking about CPC programmes like AdSense you should talk abit about CPA networks and programmes as that seems to be where alot of ClickBank and other CPS users are flowing to in 2009.
I don’t think the …
I don’t think the danger is high, but it’s quite probable.
I agree but I have …
I agree but I have to say, I’ve heard of several people getting banned (usually new members) who claims they never ever clicked their ads. So it makes you wonder. I know they do track new accounts very, very closely because of fraud. So if you think about it, how could the person ever prove it wasn’t them? Google has to protect their advertisers and if they suspect people are cheating they take action. The advertisers are their first priority, not us the publishers.
Great Job Lisa!
Great Job Lisa!
Lisa, jspukman’s …
Lisa, jspukman’s comment is unnerving. Surely a competitor or someone simply deciding to be malicious should not be able to ruin ones adsense income so easily and be subsequently be banned “in cold blood” by Google for something one is not guilty of. Is the danger of that happening really that high?
Dreamweaver, HTML, …
Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, Wordpress, how am I suppose to figure out all this stuff, (which by the way, is just the starting point) and then on top of that, there are ALWAYS some new tool that I have to learn how to use, not to mention-learning how to write content and SEO and on and on-And now you throw this in my face…..
Very good points …
Very good points here. I’ve heard of a lot of newbies who have gotten banned for fraudulent clicks. Some are really fraudulent but some are other competitors and Google just not knowing the difference. When your site is more established I think Google cuts you some slack. But you should ALWAYS diversify your revenue. Just like a stock portfolio.
Dont depend on …
Dont depend on adsense revanue alone. Especially if you are just starting out. In fact I would advise against adsense for a new site. It is too easy to be banned because of a click attack. All it takes is one competitor to repeatedly click your ads to get you banned. If your site isnt earning good money you will be kicked out on the first offense and not let back in. Have a backup plan and an additional source of revanue.
Great info Lisa.

I find you provide honest and factual information to whoever is willing to absorb it.
Hope to be as successfull as you someday!
